Yamaha Rhino - Defective and Dangerous ATV causing injury
The Yamaha Rhino, a side-by-side all terrain vehicle, has caused numerous injuries, amputations, and deaths throughout California. People are driving these Rhino’s in Los Angeles, Ventura, San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange County, may be unaware of its dangers.
Consumer Reports continues to report on the dangerous nature of these Yamaho Rhino ATV's and death, injury and destruction of families these accidents are causing. These are dangerous products and the public needs to be aware and force Yamaha to correct these dangers. Without action, Yamaha will continue to manufacture dangerous products and people will continue to suffer serious injuries and death.
The problem with the Yamaha Rhino is its prone to tip over and seriously injure its occupants. The design is defective in that its top-heavy, dangerously narrow track width, high center of gravity, inadequate wheel traction, steering geometry that causes rollovers and tip overs at low speeds and on even terrain. Furthermore many have heavy rigid steel roll cage that have no safety padding, lack of doors, leg guards, or other enclosures to protect occupants, lack of handholds for passengers, and defective restrain systems.
The most common mechanism of injury is the Rhino tipping over and its heavy roll bar crushes the leg, foot, arm or hand of the occupant. These injuries are often result in the need for surgery and/or amputation, leaving many with permanent scarring and disfigurement.
